Discussion Sheet #8

1. Definitions:

The quality of “courage” is often seen in the Scriptures as a quality of character that enables the Christian to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution. The traditional Greek word for “courage” (andreia) is used (1 Cor. 16:13), but most common are the closely related terms, boldness and endurance – both of which describe the courageousness of the Christian in a world opposed to his/her choices and commitments.
